This page explains, in plain language, what personal data GoTrust BV processes when you visit gotrust.be or interact with us by email. No dark patterns. No buried clauses.
1. Who we are
This website is operated by GoTrust BV, a Belgian limited company registered at Morelgem 24B, 9520 Vlierzele, Belgium, with VAT number BE 1037.576.138. We are the data controller within the meaning of Article 4(7) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

2. What data we collect
We deliberately collect as little as possible. Specifically:

3. What we do NOT collect
- We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel or any other third-party advertising or behavioural tracking technology.
- We do not sell or rent your data. Ever.
- We do not use US-based marketing platforms that fall under the US CLOUD Act for any tracking purpose.
- We do not profile you, score you, or fingerprint your device.
4. Where your data is stored
This website runs on infrastructure physically located in the European Union (Belgium). Server logs never leave the EU.
If you contact us by email, your message sits on a European mail provider (Canvos.eu, our own sovereign workplace product). It is not synced to any US-based mailbox.
5. Who we share data with
We share personal data only when strictly necessary, and only with processors who are themselves bound by GDPR. As of the date of this policy:
- Hosting infrastructure provider in Belgium / EU. They process server logs on our behalf as a sub-processor.
- Let's Encrypt (a US non-profit) for TLS certificate issuance. They receive only the domain name, not any personal data of visitors.
- Belgian and EU tax / accounting authorities, where required by law.
We do not transfer personal data outside the EU/EEA. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated and the transfer will rely on the adequacy decision or Standard Contractual Clauses pursuant to Art. 46 GDPR.
6. How long we keep it
Server logs: up to 14 days. Email correspondence: as long as commercially relevant, typically a maximum of 7 years for invoicing-related correspondence (Belgian Code of Companies). Cookie consent: until you clear your browser storage or change it via the Cookie preferences link.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data (Art. 15)
- Rectify inaccurate data (Art. 16)
- Erase your data, subject to legal retention obligations (Art. 17)
- Restrict processing (Art. 18)
- Receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20)
- Object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21)
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of past processing (Art. 7(3))

8. Complaints
You always have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données):

9. Changes to this policy
We will publish material changes here at least 30 days before they take effect, and bump the version number at the top of the page. The previous version remains available on request.
